Team members attend master classes on scholarship

Steppin’ Out Dance Studio was well represented in Tulsa this weekend, with six of their competitive dancers taking part in the Dance Directive Master Classes, presented Talent on Parade.

At Talent on Parade’s national competition in St. Louis, Missouri last summer, Savannah Bolton, Caitlin Fogarty, Belinda Garvie, Elizabeth Hines, Addie Mowdy, and Kate Price all earned full scholarships to attend Dance Directive for their performance of their contemporary dance, “Waving Through a Window.”

The girls took part in Dance Directive’s advanced master classes, learning from professionals from the dance world, including instructors who have performed on national television or in films. The classes in their 11-hour dance day on Sunday included training in contemporary, jazz, music theatre, hip hop, ballet, tap, and lyrical.

Local competitive dancers from Steppin’ Out Dance Studio attended Talent on Parade’s Dance Directive Master Classes in Tulsa this weekend after being awarded full scholarships at Nationals in June. The full day of dance instruction on Sunday featured master classes in numerous styles of dance. After the advanced tap portion, the girls had the opportunity to meet with nationally award winning dancer and choreographer Shelly Butcher.
